Emma Gray, the Fletchers, Rebecca Wilson, Charlotte Ashley and Chris Myers announced as #farm24 ambassadors

24 Hours in Farming is back and better than ever, celebrating its 10-year anniversary of championing British farming to the public.

As British farmers navigate a tumultuous time in the industry, with challenges arising from global trade deals, changing agricultural policies, and variable weather, it is more important than ever to support UK farming.

At the heart of this message are this year's 12 ambassadors for #farm24:

Kelvin and Liz Fletcher

Liz and Kelvin Fletcher are new entrant farmers who swapped the world of TV for agriculture.

Kelvin is best-known for his character Andy Sugden in Emmerdale and his success on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, and Liz has had various roles including Hollyoaks.

In 2021 the couple moved to a 120-acre farm in the Peak District, and have since fallen in love with farming.

They showcase their day-to-day life on social media and on their well-loved ITV show, Fletcher's on the Farm.

The couple's children also love farm life, and particularly love showing their stock at agricultural shows.

Emma Gray

They have 700 crossbred sheep put to terminal sites to sell store lambs.

They also run a herd of hill cattle, mostly blue greys and Angus who are put to the Angus Bull to calve in the spring.

They are the first organic farm on the island and also specialise in training sheepdogs and run an online training school.

Rebecca Wilson and Charlotte Ashley

They also lamb 200 mixed-breed sheep. Charlotte works full time on the farm and also documents their days on social media @charlotteashleyfarm.

Rebecca Wilson is a fifth generation farmer on her mixed family farm situated in the Vale of York. Rebecca returned to work on the farm full time approximately 4 years ago and enjoys creating social media content and speaking at events alongside her responsibilities on the farm.

They run 170 predominantly Suffolk X ewes which integrate with the arable enterprise, allowing the family to incorporate herbal leys, clover leys and cover crops with a consistent focus on soil health and sustainability. Chris Myers

Chris is a highly accomplished content creator who has found his niche in the agricultural industry. His interest in farming developed during his teenage years while visiting and helping out with lambing on the Wellocks family farm near Gargrave in the Yorkshire Dales.

Chris's career however began in IT and e-commerce and spanned over two decades, encompassing senior roles within large corporations. Eventually, he found himself grappling with stress and mental health issues. Consequently, he made the decision to break from the corporate world, assuming the role of "Daddy Day Care" for his one-year-old son.

Chris and his son embarked on outings to local farms in Nottinghamshire, immersing themselves in the farming industry and capturing photographs and videos, which he shared on social media platforms. Encouraged by the positive reception of his content, Chris, as his son began attending school, ventured to establish his own business, eager to explore the potential of his passion for showcasing British farming activities.

Now, after nine years, Simply Agri by Pro Horizon boasts an impressive following of over 4 million people and over 2.5 billion video views. Beyond the numbers, Chris derives immense joy from his work and takes great pride in serving as an ambassador for British farming, actively promoting and supporting the industry that has captured his heart.
