Charlotte Ashley is a mixed farmer from Bolton, Appleby. Starting out as a carer from Preston, Charlotte stumbled into a rural life 15 years ago and now, alongside her husband Roy, milks 130 Jersey cows on two Lely A5 robots. They also lamb 200 mixed breed sheep. Charlotte works full time on the farm and also documents their days on social media @charlotteashleyfarm.
Rebecca Wilson is a fifth generation farmer on her mixed family farm situated in the Vale of York. Rebecca returned to work on the farm full time approximately 4 years ago and enjoys creating social media content and speaking at events alongside her responsibilities on the farm. They run 170 predominantly Suffolk X ewes which integrate with the arable enterprise, allowing the family to incorporate herbal leys, clover leys and cover crops with a consistent focus on soil health and sustainability. For more information on Rebecca check out her social media @rebeccawilsonfarming.
Together, they co-host the Wilson & Ashley podcast – a unique trailer conversion which forms a mobile podcast studio. Episodes are grounded in their experience of agriculture, sparking meaningful conversations that connect farmers and non-farmers, shedding light on the biggest challenges and opportunities in modern agriculture and the countryside.
