LAMMA Show 2025: School children head to Career Zone to inspire next gen about farming

Thirty pupils from Birmingham-based schools were given the opportunity to gain an interactive insight into what a career in agriculture could look like for them

The Career Zone, organised by Jobs in Agriculture, returned to LAMMA for 2025, offering a helpful hub for anyone looking to explore or enhance their career in the agricultural industry. Exhibitors in the zone offered visitors educational resources, alongside apprenticeships and graduate scheme opportunities. 

Bursary

As part of the Jobs in Agriculture bursary programme, it welcomed 30 pupils from Birmingham-based schools Bishop Challoner and Hodge Hill Girls School. The bursary, sponsored by AGCO and hosted in partnership with the NFU gives pupils with non-agricultural backgrounds the opportunity to have an interactive insight into what a career in agriculture could look like for them. 

The schedule included talks from City & Guilds, introducing the students to T Levels, and a hands-on electrical circuits workshops with AGCO. The group was also introduced to LAMMA's famous Demo Zone, where they had the opportunity to see New Holland's new machinery in action.

Job opportunities

Whether visitors are taking their first steps in the sector or aiming to upskill for new opportunities, the Career Zone had something for everyone. This space brought together a diverse range of exhibitors, from leading educational institutions to businesses showcasing exciting job opportunities. Visitors enjoyed an inspiring schedule of expert speakers, delivering insights, advice and motivation to help them succeed in the agriculture industry.
