Farmers Guardian General Election poll puts Conservatives ahead in rural vote

With an upcoming General Election, farmers have offered a glimpse into how they could vote ahead of polling day on July 4.

Farmers Guardian has run a poll asking agricultural workers which party they are going to vote for at the next General Election. 

Between a choice of the Conservatives, Liberal Democrats, Labour, Green Party, Scottish National Party, Plaid Cymru, Reform or none of the above, who are farmers telling us they will vote for so far?

Out of 159 respondents (as of June 3), it is very close between Labour and the Conservatives.

Roughly 31 per cent said they would vote for the Conservatives.

Closely behind on a share of 28 per cent, farmers told us they would vote Labour.

In third are the Reform Party, gaining 14 per cent of votes, while the Liberal Democrats have so far gained 13 per cent of the poll.  

Around nine per cent of farmers said they would vote for the Green Party, three per cent said they would back Plaid Cymru, while one per cent said they would vote for the Scottish National Party.
