THE long journey from Cumbria to West Sussex paid off for Thor Atkinson when he claimed both the beef inter-breed champion and reserve titles on his first visit to the South of England Show.

It was a clean sweep for continental cattle in the beef judging at Northumberland Show this year, with a Limousin bull and British Blonde cow taking the supreme and reserve overall tickets.

The results across the livestock section from the Bath and West Show 2022
The culmination of two days of judging at this year’s Staffordshire County Show saw 18 breeds take to the ring in the sheep judging with the inter-breed title going to a Charollais yearling ewe from Grant Pink, Shropshire.

The Oakchurch flock of pedigree Charollais was dispersed on-farm at Staunton on Wye, on behalf of Jeremy and Ala Price, topping at 6,000gns.
IT was the Lincoln Red bull, Yarnhill Xodus which was the choice of judge, Adrian Ivory, Perthshire, for the overall supreme and native beef breed championships at Suffolk Show.
