Champion from Ben Beckitt
Judge, Jason Wareham, East Sussex, awarded the overall championship to Ben Beckitt, Newark, with a May 2025-born home-bred Limousin cross steer by his Coach House bred stock bull out of a British Blue cross cow. It sold for the day's joint top price of £6,000 to Richard Haynes, Winslow, setting a market record for a steer.
Overall reserve champion for the second-year running went to the Lyon family, Bourne, with an April 2025-born Limousin cross heifer by their Limousin stock bull Arradfoot Samos, which was also the sire of last year's reserve champion. It also sold for £6,000 to Mr Haynes.
Reserve champion heifer was a February 2025-born British Blue cross heifer from the Ludgate family, Leighton Buzzard, which sold for £4,200 to the Ketley family, Colchester.
Andrew and Caroline Price, Kent, had the reserve champion steer, a February 2025 born Limousin cross by Whinfellpark Rocky, which sold for £3,500 to Messrs Parker, Norwich.
H.G. Sharman and Son, Colmworth, sold a pedigree Limousin heifer for £4,600 to Messrs Kinge, Norfolk.
Making £4,000 was a second prize winning Limousin steer from H. Harvey and Son, Norwich, which was knocked down to Charlie Bradshaw, Colchester.
At the same money was a British Blue heifer from M. McDermott, Iver.
The first prize British Blue steer from Lyon family sold for £3,800 with H.G. Perkins and Son, Bath, also seeing £3,800 for a Limousin cross steer which sold to Messers Hargreaves, Preston.
Unhaltered cattle topped at £2,600 for a 10-month-old Limousin cross steer from F.S. Knight, Oundle, with two others from the same home making £2,580. Messrs Harvey sold yearling steers to £2,500 with another three at £2,400.
Messrs Vaughan, Princes Risborough, sold Limousin cross steers to £2,450 with another to £2,300.
