Nunnerie Daer, 25,000gns
Leading the way was Nunnerie Daer, a 22-month-old son of Commonside Assassin from A.J. MacArthur, Biggar. Bred from a home-bred Finlarg Tornado daughter that has high classification scores, including 10 for udder, the heterozygous polled Daer sold to W. Graham and Son for the Craigdarroch herd, Sanquhar.
On the other side of the coin, Messrs Graham welcomed 23,000gns from Ted Fox, St Johns Kirk, for Craigdarroch Dallas. Sired by Kirkland Buster, its dam, a Kirkland Yorkie-sired Craigdarroch cow, scored eights and nines in its classification.
Selling for 20,000gns to W.W. Dunlop and Son's Commonside herd, Hawick, was Benhar Diamond from Andrew McNee, West Lothian. This Candies Xmin son is out of a highly classified Benhar Pioneer daughter named Benhar Lily V31.
Messrs Dunlop's Commonside Duke, by the home-bred Commonside Scania and out of the Craigdarroch-sired Commonside Zinc, sold to A.J. Kennedy, Mitchelhill, Biggar, for 17,000gns.
Close behind were two from Craigdarroch at 16,000gns and 15,000gns. Dearest when sold to Prof W.A. Penny of the Harehead herd, Duns, was Craigdarroch Dax, by Craigdarroch Arlo, while making 15,000gns to L. and A.C. McCall, Culmaily herd, Golspie, was the Kirkland Yorkshire-sired Craigdarroch Digby.

Females peaked at 4,700gns for the champion pair of in-calf heifers from Commonside. The March 2023-born pair were in-calf to Commonside Assassin and sold to Messrs Halligan and Burke for their Stewarton herd, Peebles.
John and Archie MacGregor sold a pair of in-calf heifers from their Kilsyth-based Allanfauld herd for 4,500gns, as did Andrew McNee of the Benhar herd.
Messrs Halligan and Burke paid a further 3,900gns per head for the champion pair of bulling heifers which was a Blackhouse Yarrow-sired duo from D. Barr's Milkieston herd, Peebles.
Professor Penny, Harehead, sold a pair of in-calf heifers for 3,400gns.
