Its dam is by K4 Marriforth.
A consortium of four breeders forked out a combined £18,000 for V2 Hartrigg from Simon Armstrong, Penrith. He was bought in utero of a £5,000 Carry House ewe by Carry House, while its sire is Midlock Magic. It sold to Messrs Lawson, Hundith flock, Wigton; Messrs Ridley, Bleagill flock, Wigton; Messrs McQuistin, Barnshangan flock, Newton Stewart; and Messrs Reed, West Biggins flock, Bishop Auckland.

Michael Lee, Whitfield, Hexham, achieved a personal best when his V1 Agars Hill sold to Mule breeders, Messrs Lee, Hexham, and John Smith-Jackson, Haydon Bridge, for £9,000. His pedigree features the privately purchased S10 Steel on to a ewe by L32 Midlock.

Shearling rams reached £5,000 when Messrs Pattinson and Son paid that to take the T16 Homilton to work in their Hott Bank flock near Bardon Mill, Hexham. Consigned by J Carr, Barrasford, Hexham, it is by S2 Howgate.
Traditional type
IT was fitting that the overall champion and reserve shared the top price in the traditional section when the two ram lambs sold for £18,000 apiece.
The champion, V1 Burndale from Derek Henderon, Wylam, Northumberland is by the S22 Blackett House bought for £4,200 at Hawes while its dam is by the R1 Burndale. It caught the eye of Messrs Peart and Son and heads to work in their Woodcroft flock, Bishop Auckland.

Messrs Henderson welcomed a further £15,000 from Messrs Gray of the Ben Ledi flock near Callander for another by the S22 Blackett House but this time out of a M1 Ashes daughter.
Earlier on in the day the reserve champion, V1 Piel View from Scott and Clare Thomason, Barrow-in-Furness, hit £18,000 when sold to Sophie Harding, Shrewbridge flock, Nantwich. Sophie was buying back some of her own breeding as this lamb is out of the £7,000 Shrewbridge Cover Girl, a N3 Ashes daughter, and sired by the £5,000 T1 Woodcroft.

Females peaked at £3,200 for the second prize shearling, T1 Crossdykes from the Common family, Lockerbie, sold to Messrs Lewis and Son, Norton, Presteigne. It is by S4 Burndale.
M. Gray's T1 Espley from Morpeth topped the shearling entry at £2,600. Selling to Yester Estates, Haddington, it is by N7 Logie Durno.
