Dark Diamond Suffolks top at 14,000gns

The sale topper was by Crewlands Megastar out of a home-bred Limestone Legacy sired daughter, it sold to Stephen Cobbald, Acton, Suffolk.

Next at 7,000gns was a ewe lamb by Castleisle Blackadder from Graeme Christie's Balquhain flock, which was knocked down to Messrs Boden, Stockport.

Ewe lamb which sold for 7000gns

L. and M. Liggett, Co Tyrone, sold a ewe lamb by Sportsmans Scholesy from their Carony flock for 6,000gns to Cannon Hall Farm, Barnsley, and then paid 5,000gns for a shearling gimmer by Salopian Scideria carrying twins to Kings Cross from Stewart Craft Farming's Lakeview flock, Glenrothes.

Also making 5,000gns was a ewe lamb by Frongoy Cannon from T.A. Irwin and Sons, Kings flock, which sold in a two-way split to Messrs Millar and Ferguson, Duns, and Messrs Arnot, Kelso.

Flock averages – Balquhain – 5 gimmers, £2,121; 3 ewe lambs, £4,375; Cairness – 4 gimmers, £2,021.25; Birness – 10 gimmers, £1,753.50; 2 ewe lambs, £9,187.50; Carnorskie – 6 gimmers, £1,655; Lakeview – 12 gimmers, £1,496.25; Redbrae – 5 gimmers, £1,344; Maidenstone – 2 gimmers, £1,260; Benrafton – 3 gimmers, £1,120; Cairnton – 4 gimmers, £1,023.75; 1 ewe lamb, £2,625; Roundacres – 1 ewe lamb, £1,680; Kings – 3 ewe lambs, £2,835; Carony – 7 ewe lambs, £3,195; Ballynacannon – 3 ewe lambs, £2,380.
