More than 140 sheep stolen from Carmarthenshire farms

Llandeilo and Llandovery Police said around 145 sheep had been stolen in two separate incidents at a farm in Wales.

Police in Wales have confirmed more than 140 sheep have been stolen from two farms in Carmarthenshire.

Llandeilo and Llandovery Police said they have launched an investigation after two separate reports of sheep theft from farms in Rhandirmwyn, Llandovery, between July 7 and August 31.

Officers said around 145 sheep had been stolen from the farms.

The sheep, with distinctive green heart pitch marks and snipped ears, had been grazing on land. 

On Friday (September 6), Brecon, Crickhowell and Hay on Wye Police also confirmed 40 ewes had been stolen from a farm in the Y Gelli, near the Heol Senni and the Crai Reservoir, between August 26 and September 2.

This brings the total to more than 180 reported sheep thefts to Dyfed-Powys Police since the beginning of July. 

Llandeilo and Llandovery Police said anyone with further information has been asked to contact 101, quoting reference number 24000773302.
