Two free virtual Farmers Guardian events are offering UK farmers the chance to find out more about the opportunities the New Zealand agritech industry has to offer.

A diverse landscape, deep respect for the environment and a passion for technological advancement are at the heart of New Zealand agritech. With the UK farming industry facing its biggest regulatory review of a generation, FG editor Ben Briggs will be interviewing New Zealand businesses about the lessons we can learn to help secure the future.

Taking place on August 19, at 8pm, Ben will be talking to representatives from well-known New Zealand companies, Techion, UBCO and AbacusBio about the environmental challenges farming is facing and how tech development can lessen the load.

In the second event on September 16, FG news and business editor Olivia Midgley will host a discussion with three more New Zealand companies which are helping to drive productivity and profits through their latest tech developments. Featuring speakers from Gallagher, Figured and Hustler, this event is also free to take part.

Ben says: "New Zealand is a respected by many UK farmers as a great farming nation which has already been through the pain barrier we are facing of operating without subsidies. However, far less is known about the work the country is doing to ensure it is a world-leader in agricultural innovation. They have worked hard to ensure they have integrated policy, research and funding models and New Zealand businesses now want to work with international partners and share their knowledge."

All delegates can watch the interviews from their own homes and ask questions (via live chat) to the speakers in real-time.
