The judge, Ralph Needham, Louth, said the champion was an exceptional example of a beef bull with length, excellent legs, good muscling, a good backend which was not excessive and neat shoulders which would impact on calving ease.
The reserve continental title went to the Limousin champion, Epik Venture, a two-year-old heifer by Claddagh McCabe bred by Gareth Small and Beth Wilkinson and owned by Charles and Rachel Ashbridge, Thirsk, which was being shown for the first time.
The Hereford champion, Glenvale 1 Polly 685, a four-year-old cow by Vexour 1 Palmer from Benacre Estate, Suffolk, took the reserve native championship.
David Cormack and Gaynor McDowell, Leicestershire, claimed the junior championship with their April 2025-born Limousin bull, Springsett Ambassador, which was bought from breeders, Dougie McBeath and Sarah Jane Jessop at Carlisle.

Dairy
There was a strong turnout of dairy cattle with entries up more than 40% on last year. Ayrshire classes were held at the show for the first time and it was this section which produced the inter-breed champion, Morwick Peggy 126 from G.G. Baynes, Hexham. The fourth calver by Pamayres Hawaiian is currently producing 58kg daily having calved in March. It has already been inter-breed champion at Northumberland County and Ayr shows and will head to Dairy Day next.
Standing reserve was the Holstein champion, Corrringham Coffee S Shern, a fourth calver by OCD Legendary Coffee from R.V. Winter and Son, Gainsborough, which had been reserve breed champion at the show last year. It produced 12,000kg in its last lactation and is predicted to produce the same again this time.

Sheep
In the sheep rings to inter-breed title went to the Charollais champion, Robleston Arnie, a four-shear ram from Richard Bamforth who runs 110 Charollais ewes at Denby Dale. Bought last year from Rob Towers, it was the first time Mr Bamforth had shown the ram, but it will be going to the Great Yorkshire Show next.
Judge, Jen Osgodby, Rothbury, said: "The Charollais is a fantastic all-round ram which has plenty of shape, power and style."
In reserve was the Blue Texel champion, a 2022-born home-bred ewe, Yarburgh Hot To Trot from Richard and Jade Bett, Yarburgh, hich had been unbeaten as a ewe lamb, but is unshown since then.
Pigs
Withersfield Royal Maple 28, a July 2025-born Large White gilt by Withersfield Danny 2 from M.J. Kiddy and Son, Bedfordshire, claimed the pig inter-breed supreme. Having also been inter-breed champion at Suffolk Show, it will next go to the Great Yorkshire Show.
Judge, Jim Farrington, York, said his champion ‘stood out' being well developed for its age with very good muscling but also a layer fat.
In reserve was Owersby Dainty Girl 1190, a September 2025-born Welsh gilt by Clowen Ivor 3 from A. and P. Scholfield, Market Rasen, and shown by Ava Baldock Schofield.
