Agricultural tourism sees surge in interest from Clarkson's Farm

Searches for farm holidays have seen a surge in interest, following the release of Clarkson's Farm series three.

New data from Bókun, a booking management software provider, reveals the impact the latest series of Amazon exclusive ‘Clarkson's Farm' is having on tourism.

There was a 312 per cent increase in searches for ‘Where is Clarkson's Farm' while searches for ‘Diddly Squat Farm Shop' were up 340 per cent in the week following release.

Bokun highlighted the increase did not just show the series popularity, but the impact television and film can have on the tourism industry.

Interest in agricultural experiences outside of the show was also on the rise, with various UK farm experiences seeing surges in searches by tourists. Rutland Farm Park saw a 200 per cent increase in the past week, alongside Meadows Farm Village (up 82 per cent), Hogshaw Farm (up 38 per cent) and Reddish Vale Farm (up 37 per cent).

In terms of experiences, searches for ‘cow cuddling farm' were up 467 per cent in the last year, with ‘alpaca walking experience near me' up 300 per cent, and ‘pygmy goat petting zoo' up 321 per cent.

Daniel Hasselbach, UK Country Manager of Bókun, said the influence pop culture has on tourism was a ‘fascinating phenomenon'.

"We have witnessed this earlier in the year with Saltburn and Irish Wish, where on-screen magic translates into real-world tourism, breathing new life into destinations."
