Arable Weed Week to shine a light on the future of sustainable weed management

Through a series of live events, discussion and debate, Arable Weed Week will showcase the latest thinking and best practice on weed management in the context of the changing political and environmental agenda.

Taking place from June 14 - 18 in collaboration with The CropTec Show and Arable Farming, the event will see industry experts and farmers tap into new thinking around sustainable weed management, to ask: how exactly does it fit into new systems of farming? Could new technologies and tools provide solutions to some of the most pressing weed control challenges?

Brought together through a series of activities in collaboration with industry partners, including BASF, Bayer, AminoA and HORSCH UK, highlights will include BASF's resistance management masterclass, with a stellar line up of experts and farmers on the ground.

The week will investigate the role of integrated pest management (IPM) in a grower's weed management toolkit and offer up live debates and panel discussions to share invaluable technical know-how and practical solutions.

Bayer will also be teaming up with NIAB to bring growers and agronomists the latest advice and insight into the UK status of rye-grass resistance, gaining exclusive access to field trials with Bayer's latest herbicide, Proclus (Aclonifen) on Sentry farm manager Ben Binder's 800-hectare North Court Farm, near Faversham, Kent.

Setting the scene around the science behind mode of action diversity with leading weed biologist and NIAB expert John Cussans, alongside in-depth case studies on grass-weed management, Arable Weed Week will offer a central hub to deliver diverse insight, opinion, and advice.

The event's live Q&A sessions during the series of debates throughout the week will open an exciting opportunity for growers to engage with some of the leaders in the industry.

Housed on our dedicated online hub, all Arable Weed Week content, useful reader resources and a profile of our industries partners will be readily available to view on demand at www.croptecshow.com/aww.
