Feelings of fear and uncertainty around the future of farming and food security are dominating the lives of young farmers, a new study has found.

After a tumultuous year for the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (NFYFC) which saw memberships plummet significantly, Hannah Binns takes a look at the health of the charity as it enters its ninth decade.

The efforts, dedication and commitment of YFC clubs and individuals have been recognised in the annual National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs (NFYFC) Achiever Awards 2021.

Young Farmers’ Clubs (YFCs) are some of the true gems within our rural communities. They are places for youngsters to develop as people, to form life-long friendships, and they do so much good in terms of supporting and fundraising for local charities.

National Federation of Young Farmers’ Club (NFYFC) members have voted to increase the membership age from 26 to 28 from September 1.
