APF 2026: More power and faster charging for Stihl batteries

Replacing its popular AP battery range, the AllPro battery system from Stihl moves to a tabless cell connection system within each battery pack. This change in battery cell technology is not exclusive to Stihl, as it was originally developed in the automotive market, where the internal assembly of the battery uses a larger, common connector to link cells together.

This reduces heat during discharge, increases the available power output and provides much faster charging due to the increased contact area.

For users of the Stihl AllPro, this provides a claimed nine-minute recharge from 20-80% using its dedicated AL1802 charger, and up to a 60% increase in power output compared to the equivalent-sized original AP battery.

AllPro batteries are available in three sizes, with the AP100P (111Wh), AP200P (222Wh) and AP300P (333Wh).

Retail for the largest AP300P is £339.00.

The range is backwards compatible with the original AP system, with users able to operate a mixture of batteries across different tools.

Shown with a farmer-popular MSA260 C saw, a mid-size 200P battery should provide a 25-30-minute runtime.
