Claas adds film binding option to Rollant 630 RC round balers

Claas has introduced a new film binding option for its Rollant 630 RC fixed-chamber round baler, allowing operators to alternate between film and net binding depending on the forage crop.

Previously available only on the Rollant 630 RC Uniwrap combination baler-wrapper, the film binding system is now offered on the standalone baler. It is aimed primarily at livestock producers making silage, while retaining the flexibility to switch back to net binding for hay and straw.

The new optional film binding system helps silage bales retain their shape, improves handling and allows the binding and wrapping film to be recycled together after use

According to Claas, using binding film on silage bales helps the bale retain its shape during handling while making it easier to unwrap at feeding time. As both the binding and wrapping materials are plastic film, they can also be disposed of together after use, simplifying recycling.

For hay and straw work, operators can swap the film roll for a conventional net roll. Claas says net binding allows the bale to breathe more effectively while providing secure bale formation. While change between the two systems simply involves replacing the roll.

The Rollant 630 RC features a 25-knife chopping system with a theoretical chop length of 44mm

The option is available on the latest Rollant 630 RC, launched last year as the flagship fixed-chamber baler in the Rollant range. Producing 1.25-metre diameter bales, it sits above the Rollant 520 and features a 25-knife chopping unit delivering a theoretical chop length of 44mm.

Other key features include the roto cut heavy-duty rotor, pro cutting frame, maximum pressure system II bale chamber with its swivelling three-roller segment and the five-bar multiflow HD pick-up, which runs 10% faster than its predecessor while using large, low-resistance pick-up wheels measuring up to 1.10m in diameter. Claas says the reinforced driveline and simplified maintenance points are designed to improve durability while reducing running costs.
