Pottinger launches new combi drill range

Pottinger has launched its latest generation Aerosem M implement-mounted pneumatic seed drill, which features a new hopper and metering options designed to support a wider range of drilling systems and crop types.

The updated range offers a choice of standard or dual hopper configurations, including a pressurised hopper for single-shoot sowing. Pottinger says this allows users to place seed, fertiliser and companion crops together in the same seed slot.

For maize establishment, the drill can be operated with the Precision Combi System which includes additional precision metering units which are added to the drill hopper to enable the precision sowing of maize seed. As standard, the hopper has a capacity of 450 litres for maize (2 x 225-litres) and 800 litres for fertiliser. An optional hopper extension increases the capacity to 650 litres of maize (2 x 325-litres) and 1,200 litres of fertiliser.

Pottinger says the latest Aerosem M seed drill offers greater flexibility through new hopper and metering system options.

This machine is also offered with the optional Intelligent Distribution System, which controls each outlet individually via IsoBus and provides greater flexibility for tramlining and coulter management.

The drill also features a revised Dual Disc coulter system, designed to improve seed placement and establishment accuracy, including during precision maize drilling. Coulter pressure of up to 60kg is available to maintain consistent performance in heavier soils and high-residue conditions.

Available with hopper capacities of up to 2,000 litres, the Aerosem M is aimed at high-output drilling while maintaining consistent seed placement.
