Another top title and price for Goldies Limousins

Goldies Vainqueur, 38,000gns

Star attraction was 22-month-old Goldies Vainqueur, a son of the Ampertaine Opportunity-sired Goldies Torpedo which went on to sell for 38,000gns. Its dam is Goldies Olive, a Wilodge LJ daughter. Praised by judge, Richard Priestly, Brontemoor herd, as being powerful with a great top and end, Vainqueur sold to R.G. and R.S. Whitley, Haulfryn Farming, Buckley.

Ampertaine Vandyke, 27,000gns

Second highest at 27,000gns was the Glenrock Redemption-sired Ampertaine Vandyke from William and James McKay, Co Derry. Selling to Willie Barron, Barrons herd, Co Durham, it is out of Ampertaine Sweet, an Ampertaine Elgin daughter.

Anside Vermont, 25,000gns

Selling to G.L. Hutton, Cloughhead herd, Keswick, for 25,000gns was Anside Vermont from the Irvine family, Keith. Bred from the 16,000gns Procters Rdiamante, a Haltcliffe Vermount daughter, it is by Ampertaine Majestic.

Commercial producers, Peter Edmondson and Jason Loan, also from Keswick, paid 24,000gns for the dearest from the E.W. Quick and Sons, Credition, Devon, Loosebeare View. This Quickeeze Spike son is out of the Loosebeare Fantastic-sired Loosebeare Pimp.

Matching that 24,000gns was Woodmarsh Vivaldi, a Wilodge Verberus son from Michael Gould and family, Bomere Heath, Shrewsbury. Its dam, Absolute Melody, is by Diamant, and it sold in a two-way split to the Priestleys, Brontemoor herd, Brampton, and Harry Wood, Deerhouse herd, Preston.

Entries from the reduction of Andrew Gammie's Westpit herd, Laurencekirk, led the female offering with a top of 8,500gns paid by Miller Farms, Inverurie, for eight-year-old Wilodge Option. The Ampertaine Elgin daughter is out of  Milbrook Gingerspice and changed hands with its Foxhillfarm Terminator-sired bull calf,  Westpit Buffan, at foot.

Averages – 13 cows/heifers with calves, £6,580; 20 in-calf/maiden heifers, £3,602.67; 34 females overall, £4,723.52; 32 senior bulls, £10,877.34; 27 intermediate bulls, £11,403; 27 junior bulls, £9,263.33; 94 bulls overall, £10,609.46.
