Overall and junior champion Duncanziemere Jet A590, from Alistair Clark, Ayrshire, which sold for 60,000gns, to David Walker, Nairn.
Aberdeen-Angus bulls led the day's trade at the first round of the Stirling February showcase, setting a new centre record and breed record for an Aberdeen-Angus bull sold at a live auction sale.
With 83 bulls sold and a clearance rate 82%, the trade averaged £10,745 up £3,018 on the year; setting a new breed record average.
The Aberdeen-Angus Cattle Society's chief executive officer, Robert Gilchrist, said the strong trade was due to a combination of factors, including a lot of ‘strength and confidence' being back in the beef industry.

Breaking records at 60,000gns was the overall and junior champion Duncanziemere Jet A590, from Alistair Clark, Ayrshire.
Out of Duncanziemere Sportsman W357 which has previously bred bulls to 20,000gns, it marked Mr Clark's second year claiming the overall championship. It was knocked down to David Walker, Nairn.

Second top price of the day was 42,000gns for Massies Patriot A008, the intermediate and reserve overall champion, from Graeme Massie, Banchory.
Marking Mr Massie's first bull sold under the Massie prefix, the Blelack Equinox X115 son placed junior champion at the Black Beauty Bonanza in 2024. It sold to Mike and Melanie Alford, Cullompton.

Next at 38,000gns was Thrunton Premier A815, from John and Bruce Campbell, Alnwick.
Marking their best price to date for an Angus bull, it is one of the first sons out of the 16,000gns Tonley King Paco X812. It was knocked down to J.R. Galloway, Perthshire.
Continuing the strong trade was Tonley Ezra A227, a July 2024-born bull from Neil Wattie, Alford, which sold for 35,000gns.
An AI calf out of Idvies Eric S735, it went home with Mayen Farms, Rothiemay.
Making 28,000gns was Brotherton Phobos A018 from David Alexander, Johnshaven. Only his third year selling Aberdeen-Angus bulls, it marked Mr Alexander's best price to date.
By the 14,000gns Blelack Jumping Jackflash X160, it was knocked down to J, and J. Campbell, Berwickshire.
Drumhill Explosive Force A953, a May 2024-born bull from Jonathan and Lisa Doyle, Cookstown, was next at 26,000gns.
By the 15,000gns Galcantray Jedi Eric V287 which also sired the overall champion at last year's October Stirling bull sales event, it went home with the Hodge family, Rulesmains.
Two bulls from Graham Fraser's Idvies consignment, Forfar, sold to a high of 18,000gns.
The first was Idvies Evander A203, by Thrunton Premier X475 which was reserve inter-breed champion at the 2024 February Stirling bull sales event. It sold to Andrew Shepherd, Fochabers.
The second at this money was Idvies Proud Pastor A207, another Thrunton Premier X475 son.
Out of Idvies Pink Paula which has sold sons to 32,000gns, it was knocked down to Jan Boomaars, Woldingham.
Selling for 17,000gns was Tynet Bond A166, the senior champion from Hugh and Cara Thomson, Insch.
Crowned reserve male champion at the Royal Highland Show in 2025, it went home with W.S.L. Muir, Stromness.
Next at 16,000gns was McCornick DJ A129, a second prize winner from Martin McCornick, Newton Stewart. It was sold to G. McFadzean, Perth.
Three bulls sold for 14,000gns. The first was Deveron Erskine A001, from Hamish Sclater, Turriff. One of the first calves by Deveron Fernando X781, it was sold to David Walker, Nairn.
The second at this money was Raddery Elba A319, an April 2024-born bull from Gill and Ewen MacGregor, Fortrose. It was knocked down to Tangent Estates, Easton Grey.
Also selling for 14,000gns was Carruthers Gambler A 314 from Donald and Kerry Graham, Lockerbie. A Kersquarter Elgar V333 son, it went home with Mead Farms, Thurso.
Auchengray Garcon A994, from Kenny Dunlop, Carnwath, was next at 12,000gns. By Shadwell Earthquake which was purchased as a calf for 5,000gns, it went home with Huntlyhill Farms, Lanark.
Selling for 11,500gns was Mosshall Black Bravado A718, from George and Nikki Taylor, West Lothian. It was sold to W. and J. Brown, Turriff.
Seven Aberdeen-Angus females went under the hammer, with the champion Tonley Princess A233, from Neil Wattie, taking the top spot at 4,800gns. Out of Tonley Princess W783 which has bred daughters to 15,000gns, the July 2024-born heifer went home with Chris Pittendrigh, West Lothian.

Herefords sell to 7,600gns high
Hereford bulls met at 7,600gns high to average £6,878 for the two bulls sold. Sale leader was Moralee 1 Clint PA381, from Tom and Di Harrison, Stocksfield. The May 2024-born bull by Gouldingpoll 1 Duncan, went home with the Hodge family, Berwickshire.
Next at 5,500gns was Craigdhu 1 Bracken, an April 2024-born bull from Margaret Galbraith, Sandilands. It was knocked down to W.H.M. Warnock, Clackmannan.
Hereford females topped at 6,800gns for the three sold. Leading the way was another from the Moralee consignment, Moralee 1 Wispa, a Dendor 1 Tewcwyn daughter which sold to E. Innes and Son, Glenlivet.
Another Moralee heifer, the September 2024-born Moralee 1 Mink, sold for 6,000gns to D. Lister, Fife.

Lincoln Reds top at 7,500gns
Lincoln red bulls sold to a 7,500gns high, with St Fort Hill Duke, from Hilary Mylius, Newport-on-Tay. The Ballyvaddy Warlord son went home with the Hamilton family, Dunbar.
Next at 7,000gns was Andrew Mylius, Newport-on-Tay, with St Fort Dasher. The St. Fort Yarmouth son was also knocked down to the Hamilton family.
