Cuil Tank, 18,000gns
Setting that record was the senior champion and reserve overall, Cuil Tank, from the McClymont family, Palnure. This two-year-old Cumbria Pele son is bred from the Knottown Nector-sired Cuil Mandy and sold to G. and M. Pye for the Rednock herd, Stirling, for that 18,000gns.
Celebrations continued for Messrs McClymont when their intermediate champion, Cuil Union, sold to R.A. Austin, Girthon herd, Gatehouse of Fleet, for the second highest price of 17,000gns. This 20-month-old offers some different breeding being by Corrichie Ninja and out of Cuil Nadine, another Knottown Nector daughter.
A. and K. Gowthorpe, York, paid 12,000gns for the reserve senior, Cuil Teletubbie, again by Cumbria Pele.
That 12,000gns was matched by the reserve junior, Cumbrian Utah, from the team at Farmstock Genetics, Selkirk. It is a son of this year's Royal Highland Show champion, Sauveur, while its dam is Cumbrian Hyacinth. It sold to N. and K. Blair, Kilry.
Females peaked at 7,000gns for Drumaglea Treat, a Django-sired 30-month-old from P. Boyd's production draft from the Isle of Tiree. It sold to H. James, Anglesey, scanned in calf to Marechal along with Drumaglea Ultimo for 5,600gns which this time was by Lorenzo and in calf to Cantal.

A top price of £4,000 was paid twice in the bulling heifer ring for entries from J. Martin and Son, Dalry. First was a 26-month-old that sold to Messrs Young, New Cumnock, and the second was a month older that sold to M.A. Andrew and Son, Meifod.
Two consignments of bulling heifers topped at £3,600 – a trio from Messrs Gowthorpe sold to R. Milne, Oldmeldrum, and a pen of four from G.S. McClymont that sold to R. and R. Burbabe, East Hoddam.
Messrs McClymont led the heifer stirk section with a pen of five 13-month-olds that realised £3,200 when knocked Messrs Watson, Frosterley.
