This was for a Torddu shearling ram from Gareth Jones, Felingwm, Carmarthen, which had stood male champion at this year's Royal Welsh Show as well as breed champion at the Spring Festival. It sold to I. Bowen and family, Kidderminster.

Vicky Crew, Boreland, Lockerbie, sold a Torddu shearling ram for 2,800gns. The buyer was with Catrin Price, Llanddeusant, Carmarthenshire.

Torddu females topped at 750gns twice, firstly for a shearling ewe from Messrs King and Jeffreys, Mynyddcerrig, Llanelli, which sold to Matthew Bevan, Raglan, Usk, with the overall Torddu champion, a ewe lamb from Messrs Joseph, selling at the same money to Messrs Bowen.

Torwens topped at 1,200gns for a shearling ram from S. Hermanis, Penycae, Powys, which sold to J. Jones, Bwlch, Brecon.

Making 1,000gns was a Torwen ram lamb from E. and J. Jones, Capel Isaac, Carmarthenshire, which went home with A. Thomas, Fishguard, Pembrokeshire.

Topping the Torwen female trade at 650gns was a ewe lamb from M., S and C. Brown. This one was knocked down to J.A. Evans, Cantref, Brecon.

Averages - Torwen - 19 ewes, £290.13; 20 ewe lambs, £268.80; 14 rams, £474.75; 5 ram lambs, £655.20. Torddu - 61 ewes £296.74; 56 ewe lambs £195.17; 29 rams £891.41; 13 ram lambs £515.30.
