Dairy

Claiming the supreme dairy championship this year's Northumberland County Show was the Ayrshire, Morwick Peggy 126, from G.G. Baynes and Stuart Mullan, Hexham. Led by Richard Baynes, the EX93 classified third calver was shown giving 45 litres having last calved in January and has had a successful show career to date, winning its breed section at Ayr Show most recently.

Having calved some 500 days ago, it was shown giving 31 litres and is due in the autumn. Previous wins include champion Brown Swiss at UK Dairy Expo in 2024.

Beef

In the beef rings it was the continentals which found favour, with this year's supreme beef championship going to the Charolais and continental beef champion, Goldstar Une Star, from Thor Atkinson and his team at Ulverston, Cumbria, before it later went onto scoop the show's champion of champion trophy in the afternoon.
