Colcharton herd tops South Devons at 9,500gns

The Midlands South Devon Cattle Breeders Club sale at Worcester topped at 9,500gns for Colcharton Trumper 4

The son of Colcharton Trumper 1 out of Colcharton Darling 361, a Beckaveans Brutus daughter, from Colcharton Farm Partners, Tavistock, sold with a suckler replacement index of +43 and a quality beef index of +55 to Alex and Gemma Sell for the Sellstead herd, Basildon, Essex.

Next, at 6,200gns, was Pytchley Ferdinand, from Mr K Finch, Crick. By Eyton Trusty 5, it was knocked down to M.J. Tuckey, Aylesbury.

Selling for 5,200gns was Churcheaton Vincent from P Taylor, Church Eaton. By Bishopsway Churcheaton Yorrick, it was the pick of the Tully Farm Partnership, Brixham.

Females

South Devon females saw a top call of 3,2500gns for Coton Mary 3 from Chris Page, Banbury, Oxfordshire. The February 2023-born heifer by Providence Raider and out of a Waterlane female this one carries a quality beef index of +72. Taking this one, and  three other females, was Bures Farm Partners, Letton, Norfolk.

Averages: 4 bulls, £6,273.75; 12 females, £3,071.25.
