Livestock and visitors enjoyed the sunshine at the largest two-day show in the country, the Royal Norfolk Show, where breeders reaped the prizes. Ellie Layton reports

A Beltex ram took top sheep honours, a Holstein was dairy supreme and a Welsh gilt triumphed in the pig rings at Lincolnshire Show. Angela Calvert reports

In what is thought to be the first time at the show, it was the commercial champions which claimed the sheep supreme

Taking top honours in the beef inter-breed championship was the Charolais champion Falleninch Tommy, from Andrew Hornall, Stirlingshire

Claiming the top spot for the second consecutive year was the Holstein champion Mag Pandor, from the Laird family, Peeblesshire and Ferme Blondin, Canada

There was a strong turnout across the two days of Royal Cheshire Show where many local exhibitors were to the fore

More than 8,000 entries flocked to the livestock lines at this year's show from across the UK, met with a high standard and hot competition.

High standards from the start have certainly paid off for Bluefaced Leicester breeder Jamie Pirie who is testament that hard work pays off in the end
