Lazonby Mart kicks off store lamb season | Sale Ring Stories Ep. 1

On the first episode of Sale Ring Stories, Farmers Guardian's new video series, Head of Livestock, Angela Calvert visits Lazonby Market for the opening store lamb sale of the year.

In the episode Angela speaks to Harrison and Hetherington auctioneer, Joe Bowman and local farmer, Adam Watson about the importance of rural marts while catching up on trade.

In the series, we will highlight the complexity and diversity of the UK's sheep industry showcasing the many aspects of the sector and the role that auction marts play.

We will be following the sales cycle, visiting different types of sales, starting with the first store lamb sales, through to pedigree rams and commercial breeding sheep. 

 

We will be heading behind the scenes, to meet vendors, buyers, auctioneers and people that make these sales happen.
