The new Claas Axion 8 CMatic range comprises three models delivering rated outputs from 264hp to 313hp, strengthening the manufacturer's 300hp tractor offering.
The introduction of the new Axion 8 marks a significant update to Claas' mid-to-high horsepower tractor offering, with three new models designed around the larger Axion 9 concept.
Comprising the Axion 8.240 , Axion 8.270 and Axion 8.290, the range delivers rated outputs from 264hp to 313hp from a 6.7-litre six-cylinder engine, while retaining a long 2.98m wheelbase and balanced 50/50 weight distribution aimed at maximising traction for cultivation, drilling and transport work.

A key focus of the new range is reducing operating costs while improving productivity. Engine oil service intervals have been extended to 750 hours. While road performance has also been optimised, with the tractors capable of travelling at 50km/h at just 1,400rpm.
The tractors are equipped as standard with the Claas Cmatic continuously variable transmission, while the latest Cemos auto powertrain system introduces dynamic power, auto droop and auto load anticipation. Together, the systems automatically adjust engine speed, transmission ratio and power delivery according to changing draft loads, hydraulic demand and PTO requirements claimed to reduce fuel consumption and improve overall efficiency.

Hydraulic performance has also been enhanced a 205 litres per minute load-sensing system. Supplying up to 140-litres per minute through a single rear spool valve and 110-litres on the remaining four, while customers can specify up to five rear hydraulic valves and two front services. Rear linkage lift capacity is up to 10,200kg, with a standard 5,900kg front linkage on the larger two models.
Inside the cab, Claas has introduced a revised premium operator environment featuring the latest Cebis terminal and Cmotion control armrest, alongside improved integration with Claas connect. The cloud-based platform enables remote fleet monitoring, job management and precision farming applications, allowing work instructions and application maps to be transferred directly between the farm office and the tractor.
The new models also introduce the manufacturer's maxi care focus package as standard, covering the engine, transmission and axles for up to five years or 5,000 operating hours. Prospective buyers can also extend cover to eight years or 8,000 operating hours through the optional maxi care protect warranty package.
