Averages improved on the year for both bulls and females at the sale of South Devons at Exeter where a top price of 11,500gns was achieved

Sale leader was Treguddick Elgar 6, a Treguddick Ephraim son from D.J. Thomas and Son, Launceston. Selling to C.J. Page, Chacombe, it is bred from the Pansy family which carries Brafferton Warrior on the dam side.

Trewint Crawford, 11,000gns

The pre-sale champion followed at 11,000gns. This was Trewint Crawford from P.S. and A.P. Rowe, Menheniot, which sold to J.V. Richards, Perranwell Station. It is by the show-winning sire, Trewint Carlos, and bred from the Buttercup family.

Boakley Fabio, 8,000gns

R. Saunders, Garsden, sold Boakley Fabio, a Grove Brutus son bred from Mells Park Krystal EX91, to Laity Farms, Hayle, for 8,000gns.

Hitting 7,200gns when sold to S. Summers, Towcester, was Tregondale Marvyn, a Glebe Marvel son from M.R. and R.J. Rowe, Menheniot.

Two followed at 7,000gns. First was the Colcharton Jupiter-sired Broompark General from R.J. Throseel and J.A.T. Warwick, Holsworthy, which sold to J. and S. Rogers, Plymouth.

Also at 7,000gns was Trewint Prosper, a Highgate Prospect son from Messrs. Rowe which sold to J. Emmott, Honiton.

Females peaked at 5,500gns twice including for the female champion, Trewint Jill 729 from Messrs Rowe which sold to Widworthy Barton, Honiton.

Matching that when also sold to Widworthy Barton was the reserve champion, Waddeton Darkie 4 from the Tully Partnership, Brixham.

Averages – 23 bulls £6,070 (+£405 2025); 5 heifers £4,200 (+£788).
