It is open to those between the ages of 25 and 45 who are employed in farming, food, horticulture, or other rural sectors.

Sophie Gregory, 2024 scholar and Somerset dairy farmer, said: "My Nuffield Scholarship journey has been incredible.

"Visiting farms around the world and meeting passionate people has completely shifted my perspective. It's made me even more committed to our sector and proud to be part of this industry."

Farmers Guardian 'In your field' writer and 2024 scholar, Dan Jones encouraged anyone thinking about applying for the scholarship to just 'go for it'.

"You'll learn, you'll laugh, and at some point you might end up on a horse in Tierra del Fuego, wondering how on earth you got there. And honestly, that's the whole point."

Scholarships are fully funded by the scheme sponsors.

Those who are interested are invited to apply before the closing date.
