New documentary on 'hard man' Vinnie Jones to highlight his passion for farming and the British Countryside

Notorious ‘tough guy' Vinnie Jones has announced he will be highlighting his passion for farming and the British countryside in a new documentary series.

Mr Jones, better known for his acting credits in Hollywood depicting gangsters and villains, has confirmed he will star in a docu-series for Discovery+ called Vinnie Jones: The Wild Life which will attempt to rival Amazon Prime's Clarkson's Farm.

He was also a footballer for Sheffield United and Leeds United as well as an FA Cup winner with Wimbledon in 1988 before retiring in 1999.

The series will see the Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels actor transform his 147 acre West Sussex farm in Petworth into a ‘sustainable utopia' through wildlife conservation and the reintroduction of species.

Since retiring from football in 1999, Mr Jones has starred in films as a 'tough guy' and villain alongside Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schawarzenegger

Having featured alongside stars such as Jason Statham, Nicolas Cage, Angelina Jolie, Hugh Jackman, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger, Mr Jones said he wanted to highlight his enthusiasm for farming and nature.

"Most people know me as a professional footballer or Hollywood hardman," he said.

"But what they probably don't know is all of that hard work has been to support my real passion: my home in the great British countryside.

"I was raised living off the land and cannot wait to show people the joy and beauty of our countryside, and the reward of old-fashioned hard work.

"Bring it on."

Clare Laycock, SVP head of content - networks and streaming at Warner Bros. Discovery, said the show would highlight Mr Jones' character and good nature.

"After decades on the football pitch and silverscreen, we are delighted to bring Vinnie Jones and this heart-warming new series to Discovery+," she added.

"Vinnie's charisma, determination and fiery personality shine through in this series and viewers are going to love getting to know a surprising new side to this hard-as-nails footballer: a true country gentleman."

No official date has yet been revealed for when the docu-series will be published.
