Since the start, thousands of years ago, women have always been at the heart of rural communities.

Over the years a woman's role has changed, and we have more women than ever in the industry, farming in their own right but always at the heart of the sector. 

Throughout March, Farmers Guardian will look at various aspects of women in farming, and how their place in agriculture has evolved.
