A new Kent youth event is inviting people aged 18-30 to find out more about a career in the fresh food and horticulture sectors.

Holly Andrews, 22, is from Ansley, North Warwickshire. She is undertaking a placement year with Premier Nutrition as a transition management assessor as part of her studies at Harper Adams University.

Young Farmers’ Clubs (YFCs) have pledged to put local produce at the top of the agenda following a recent vote at the National Federation of Young Farmers’ Clubs’ (NFYFC) 90th Annual General Meeting in Warwickshire.

Jessica Langton, 22, is a dairy farmer from Langley Mill, Derbyshire. She studies animal science at the University of Nottingham and works part-time for Genus ABS as a reproductive management specialist.

Heather Mackie, 25 is from a dairy and beef farm in Lochwinnoch, Renfrewshire. Her family has been farming for as far as they can trace back.

Rosie Bennett, 27, is from Honiton, Devon. She is a dairy and poultry farmer’s daughter and works as a manager at an agricultural specialist accountants Evolution ABS Limited.

Pippa Botting, 28 is from Martock, Somerset and works for a large organic dairy business supplying milk to Arla, McDonald’s and Waitrose.
