Partner Webinar: Exploring the transition cow connection to better calf colostrum

Giving calves the best start begins before they are born, with transition cow management playing an important role in colostrum quality.

Join Dr Kat Baxter-Smith, Veterinary Advisor at MSD Animal Health, and nutritionist Dr Rosie Armstrong from Advanced Ruminant Nutrition on 12 November at 7pm for a practical look at how farmers can strengthen colostrum management from cow to calf.

Dr Baxter-Smith will share insights from the latest MSD Animal Health farmer colostrum survey1, highlighting where current colostrum management practices are working well and where there are opportunities to improve.

Dr Armstrong will share her 10 golden rules of transition cow management, covering practical areas such as nutrition, dry matter intake, energy, protein and minerals, and how these can influence colostrum quality.

The webinar will also cover practical steps farmers can take to assess colostrum quality, improve how it is stored and fed, ensure calves receive enough colostrum quickly and hygienically, and check whether their colostrum management programme is delivering the desired outcome in the calf.
