Keeping pigs, like any livestock, is a satisfying experience, but there are a number of things to consider before taking the plunge

Grant Stephen, 23, from Dallas, Moray, is a general farm worker with a herd of 140 pedigree Simmentals. He has a small herd of pedigree Beef Shorthorns and comes from a farming family with 80 suckler cows and 500 breeding ewes.

Marcus Doig, 27, graduated from Harper Adams University after spending a year in industry learning all aspects of modern dairy farming. He now manages a family owned 243-hectare dairy in Somerset, milking 300 cows.
