"It moves me to tears hearing how challenging it is for our farmers at the minute dealing with this awful virus"
The Government said there have also been two further cases in North East Lincolnshire
"Unfortunately it was just a matter of time for it to reach Lincolnshire"
Defra also confirmed seven new cases of the virus have been reported in the 'Restriction Zone' over the weekend
APHA confirmed the case was detected at a farm near Withernsea on Wednesday (September 4)
"There is good evidence that mortality rates are lower and livestock show reduced clinical signs of the disease when they have had the vaccine"
"Please be aware that things are changing quickly"
APHA said there have been 167 cases of the virus in the UK since November 2023
Bluetongue has been confirmed in 27 animals on 10 farms across both counties since August 26
"Continuing to restrict the import of susceptible animals from Great Britain will significantly reduce the risk of an outbreak on the Isle of Man"
