Farmer killed in ATV crash

A FARMER was killed when her quad bike crashed in Northumberland.

The woman, named locally as Liz McIntosh, is believed to have been tending to her sheep flock when the accident happened on an unnamed road close to West Todholes, near Elsdon, on Friday afternoon. Another local farmer who knew Ms McIntosh, said she ran the 280 ha (700 acre) beef and sheep farm which had been passed down from her father. The family own various pockets of land in the North East.

A Northumbria Police spokesman urged witnesses to call the Road Safety Unit on the 101 non-emergency number.
