Lucas G offers new bedding option
FOLLOWING both mounted and trailed versions, French-manufacturer Lucas G has expanded its strawbedder range with the Raptor, aimed at use with telehandlers.
Mounted directly to the carriage, an electric control system drives the Raptor’s functions from the cab.
The machine features a self-loading rear door for round or square bales and chain-bed conveyor with external tension adjustment.
An optional beater bar, with three additional discs to aid in difficult straw conditions, is available, while a swivelling chute for distributing straw in a 270-degree arc and up to 15 metres is fitted as standard.
A telehandler with a 2.8-tonne lift capacity is required, and with a flow rate of 90-100 litres/minute.

As one Defra agency appears to be finally learning the painful lessons of IT rollouts gone wrong, another seems to have walked into the same trap.
