Lamma: Tillso combines straw rake with rolls

Raking and rolling chaff residues and straw mats left by the combine to further distribute trash can encourage stale seedbeds and promote shorter dormancy for blackgrass seeds says Tillso’s Chris Lane.

His ‘Rake and Roll’ combination – available in 8.4m and 12.2m working widths – uses a combination of light spring tines with a 610mm diameter studded Aqueel 2 roller to flush out weed seeds while preserving moisture.

Machine weights are 5.1 and 6.6 tonnes respectively and can be operated at forward speeds from 8-14kph.
