Lamma: Accident causes hold-ups on day one

VISITORS driving to the opening day of Lamma 2010 have found themselves stuck in heavy traffic after police were forced to close the A1 - the main route into the show.

The closure has been made following a lorry fire, with the road closed just north of the Lamma showground.

Diversions are in place and organisers are advising visitors to follow the diversions in order to get to the show.

A1 both ways closed, queueing traffic due to spillage and lorry fire between B6325 Great North Road Roundabout and A57 / A614 Blyth Road (Five Lanes End).
