Nigel Miller is new NFUS president

THE new president of NFUS is Nigel Miller.

On receiving the news he thanked Council members for their support.

“Representing farmers and this organisation is the best job you can possibly have so I’m delighted.”

Mr Miller has held the role of vice-president for four years, he farms in the Borders.

Two Fife farmers were named as the Union’s vice-presidents.

Having been defeated by Mr Miller in the presidential election, arable farmer Alan Bowie will stay on for the third year as vice-president.

He will be joined by arable and beef farmer John Picken, of Priorletham, St Andrews.
