Early potato plantings slow
FOG and rain has interrupted progress with early potato planting, says the Potato Council.
Little progress has been made in Cornwall, where about 280 hectares (700 acres) has been planted and covered.
In Pembrokeshire, a token amount of Rocket and Minerva has been planted.
Planting conditions are better in Jersey, with an estimated 20 per cent of the export crop in the ground.
