Worcester : Cutnall Green show they are a cut above

WITH a score of 5,320 points, Worcester’s 60th annual rally saw Cutnall Green YFC be crowned the overall winners of the day.

The team comfortably beat runners-up Barrow who had 5,132 points and Bromsgrove, who were placed third with 5,084 points.

Amongst their victories, Cutnall Green won the popular synchronised wheelbarrow competition after offering a series of alternative suggestions as to how the DIY tool could be used.

Using the theme of the Year of Food and Farming, the team turned a number of wheelbarrows into a plough, a combine and a drill, all while a running commentary throughout explained to the audience what they were doing.

In the floral art competition there were three winners, Nicola Cook took top honours in the senior class for her interpretation of a ‘farmers’ market’ and Jess Tredwell won the intermediate section for her floral display themed on ‘country life’. Both girls are from Crowle YFC. Judith Harcombe of Upton-on-Severn won the junior section, with theme of ‘fields of plenty’.
