Staffordshire : Ashley YFC manage to hold on to their crown

FOR the second year running, Ashley YFC picked up the overall winning trophy for the highest scoring club after strong competition from Waterhouses YFC and Eccleshall YFC, who took second and third place respectively.

The award for the most improved club in comparison to last year’s rally went to Ridware YFC, with Waterhouse in second and Eccleshall in third.

Eccleshall YFC also pipped others to the post to become the club that won the most in national competitions including first place in the ATV challenge, national cookery competitions and floral art.

With the Year of Food and Farming as its theme, members offered their interpretation in the club displays and photograph competitions.

For the first time in a number of years, the county also held a sheep shearing competition in which 13 members took part shearing two sheep each.

Andrew Evans of Ridware YFC was named the winner of the competition with Ben Salt of Uttoxeter in second and Eccleshall member Matthew Wright in third.
