Royal Welsh's main ring’s £360,000 investment
SOON after this year’s show closes, the main ring on the Llanelwedd showground is to be ripped up and replaced with a new weather-resistant natural grass surface costing an estimated £360,000.
It will be completed and ready for use in time for next year’s Royal Welsh.
The decision to go ahead with resurfacing, which involves installing a new drainage system, follows the atrocious weather at two of the last three shows which left the ring waterlogged and hazardous for exhibitors.
