Community champion shortlist announced
FOUR farmers who make an incredible contribution to their local communities have been shortlisted for this year’s NFU Cymru-NatWest Welsh Rural Community Champion Award.
The award recognises the hard work farmers do off farm to help their local community.
The finalists are:
- Eira Edwards, Hendre Ifan Goch Farm, Blackmill, Bridgend, Glamorgan, who hosts community fun days on her farm and gives Farming in the Classroom talks.
- Christopher Davies, Cwma-chau Farm, Lower Chapel, Brecon, Powys, described as ‘an inspiration’ in his locality with his wide-ranging organisation involvement.
- Gareth and Falmai Roberts, Tal y Bryn, Llannefydd, Denbigh, who together are the owner directors of Llaeth y Llan - Village Dairy and run a farmhouse bed and breakfast as well as taking active roles in a wide range of community activities.
The winner will announced on the final day of the Royal Welsh Show.
