Breeders flock to Masham Sheep Fair

Breeders flocked to the Masham Sheep Fair for one of the season’s biggest sheep events last weekend.

MORE than 20 sheep breeds were represented at the Masham Sheep Fair, North Yorkshire.

Overall champion on Saturday was the Texel breed leader from John and Alison North, Moss, Doncaster, who had a clean sweep in the breed honours.

Standing supreme on Sunday was a North Country Cheviot from Keith Stones, Richmond, who took the breed and female titles.

Inter-breed reserve on the Saturday was the Suffolk champion from Lester Peel, Thirsk, while on Sunday it was the Charollais winner from Robert and Samuel Tindall, Linton Springs, Wetherby.
