Blonde tops Sedgemoor spring sale at 2,800gns
NEAR total clearance was achieved at Sedgemoor auction centre’s first spring south west multi-breed show and sale of pedigree beef cattle.
Of the 106 forward, 98 found new homes and top price was 2,800gns achieved for a Blonde bull, Allacott Dash, from D. Skinner, Shebbear, Devon. This July 2008-born Megray Bonapart son is out of Bilsington Vache. It sold to E.A. and D. Ellis, St Ives, Cornwall.
Limousin bulls sold to 2,200gns for Hugginshayes Daredevil from C.J. Dare and Son, Honiton, Devon.
By the French-bred Malibu, this bull is out of a home-bred dam by Grahams Uganda. The hammer fell to P. Curry, Winscombe, Somerset.
Charolais bulls sold to 2,200gns for the March 2008-born Trenestral Dijon, consigned by W.F. Plamer and Son, Truro. This Edenhurst Regal son sold to J. Stanbury, Knowstone.
Salers sold to 2,000gns for Morwenstow Bandit from A. and M. Austin, Bude, Cornwall and selling to B.R. Bennet, Gloucester. This rising two-year-old is by Morwenstow Saracen.
Leading the trade for females was a pair of Salers from Rigel Salers, Yorkshire. Rigel Jodie Poll, made 2,700gns and 2,650gns.
