Bidding to £1,100 for show potential stores
BIDDING twice rose to £1,100 at the spring show and sale of store cattle with show potential at Skipton last week.
First was the champion, a 11-month-old British Blue-cross heifer from J. and G. Huck, Hubberholme, Yorkshire.
By the Huck’s stock bull, Luke Royal Admiral, out of a Limousin cow, it sold to Hannah Jeffery, Broxa, Scarborough.
Mrs Jeffrey also paid £1,060 for the first prize Limousin-cross heifer from Ian Townson, Clitheroe. The other at £1,100 was also from Mr Townson and was a yearling Limousin cross steer, which took the reserve title. It sold to the show judge, Jeff Burrow, Kirkby Malham.
Another four-figure achiever at £1,000 was a Limousin-cross heifer from Joe and Trevor Stoney, Pateley Bridge, which joined Skipton regular Stephen Maskill, Hebden Bridge.
