Llandovery
A total clearance of five heifers and 55 steers was achieved at the Welsh Black Cattle Society’s pedigree store sale. A pen of four 23-month-old steers weighing 485kg from H. Lloyd, Henllan, Llandysul, sold for £800.
Derby
An entry of 24 dairy cattle peaked at £1,880 for a Tissington Inspiration daughter from Messrs Stubbs, Ashbourne. Giving 32.9kg, she went to Messrs Seward of Duckmanton. First quality heifers averaged £1,825.
Dumfries
The fortnightly sale of store cattle included a sale of 347 organic cattle. Auctioneers reported trade for the organic cattle being ‘steadier’. Steers sold to 255p/kg and averaged 185.7p/kg while heifers peaked at 200p/kg and levelled at 168.9p/kg.
