Angus bull trade top of 4,000gns at Dungannon
DEMAND for strong, well bred Aberdeen-Angus bulls and females saw trade peak at 4,000gns for males and 3,500gns for females at Dungannon Farmers Market.
One breeder took both the championships and top prices in the male and female sections.
Sale leader was the male champion, Dalriada Thadeus, from Alan and Naomi Morrison, Maguiresridge, This September 2008-born son of Nakkeg Nord is out of Dalrene Cruz daughter Dalriada Tadhall. It sold to David Torrens, Carvagh, Co Londonderry.
At 2,700gns was Railview Province from Marcus and Norman Rutledge, Omagh. Born in July 2008, Province is by Netherton Eastern Cruz. He sold to A. Downard, Markethill, Co Armagh for 2,700gns.
The female champion, again from the Morrisons, Fingerpost Mayflower, made 3,500gns.
Bred by Adrian and Sandra Irvine, Mayflower is a May 2008-born daughter of Grangemore Macelix out of a Netherton Eastern Cruz daughter. The hammer fell to Ken Woodside, Islandmagee, Co Antrim.
